decline transactions on your Express Buy Card, please read
the following:
Using Your
Card at Restaurants and Other Selected Merchants
You must ensure that your card balance is at least 15 %
greater than the value of your restaurant bill or the
transaction will be declined. Most restaurants authorize for
the restaurant bill amount, however there systems allow an
additional tip amount to be processed. As a result, when
your restaurant bill is being processed an additional 15% is
added to the authorization value to determine if you have
sufficient funds on your card. Therefore if your restaurant
bill is $20.00 your card must have at least $23.00 on the
card for it to be accepted.
This same rule applies to Hotels, Mail Order, Car Rentals,
and Cruise Lines.
We do not recommend using your Express Buy Card for
authorizations at car rental establishments or hotels as
this will reduce your balance available for other purchases
for up to 30 days. Please use another card for making
reservations, like Express Cash Card.
Always Know Your Balance Remaining
Merchants are unable to view or obtain the balance on your
card. Always ensure you know your balance so you can advise
the merchant how much to authorize on the card.
Express Buy Card is not reloadable, once your credit is
